For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-traveling alien decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town — a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy and Clive Gollings, the two guys from Shaun of the Dead. Chased by federal agents they create an escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship.

Green Hornet director Michel Gondry is teaming up with Ghost World scribe Daniel Clowes to create a time-travel drama starring Ellen Page (Juno). “I’m developing a screenplay with a writer right now about kids who travel [into] the future by mistake and a machine [that] keeps people younger… ehhh, it’s complicated to explain,” said Gondry.

(CNN) — “Now the highest-grossing film ever, “Avatar,” has captivated millions of viewers with its picturesque scenery, extraterrestrial battles, and nature-loving, blue-skinned aliens,” reports Elizabeth Landau for CNN.
Mobile, Alabama based independent filmmaking group Fighting Owl Films is set to produce an independent feature in the city, utilizing local talent. The feature, titled “The Night Shift”, is based on Fighting Owl Films’ shoestring budget short film of the same name which proved an online hit, was positively reviewed in “Fangoria” magazine’s online edition in 2009, and has screened in several festivals across the United States.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Summit Entertainment, the upstart film outfit behind the “Twilight” phenomenon as well as critical fave “The Hurt Locker,” is doing what all clever indies do: “pushing” into TV. The studio is developing a TV series based on its recent science-fiction thriller “Push,” which centered on people with paranormal powers who band together to take down a corrupt government agency.
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – “Something’s moving in the “Paranormal Activity 2″ house,” reports Jay Fernandez and Borys Kit. “Paramount has hired TV writer Michael R. Perry (“Millennium”) and “Saw VI” director Kevin Greutert to create the sequel to 2009′s biggest surprise hit, “Paranormal Activity,” which scared up $151 million in worldwide grosses in the fall on a shoestring $15,000 budget and a shrewd, opt-in Web marketing campaign,” reports Jay Fernandez and Borys Kit.
“The observation of UFOs and mysterious lights in the sky prior to devastating earthquakes has been well documented by researchers. A number of scholars of UFO and extraterrestrial issues have already started documenting sightings preceding the disastrous events that just took place in the nation of Haiti,” writes Michael Cohen for All News Web.
