(Space.com) Astronomers have pinned down some details of an exotic nearby alien planet that’s almost as dense as lead. The exoplanet, called 55 Cancri e, is 60 percent larger in diameter than Earth but eight times as massive, researchers revealed Friday (April 29). That makes the alien world the densest solid planet known — It’s twice as dense as Earth.

(AccuWeather.com) NASA recently held an event that they named a “Tweetup” where 100 followers were invited by random from 400 applicants. The attendees attended several different science talks, including a presentation by Natalie Batalha, deputy science team lead of NASA’s planet-hunting Kepler mission. Batalha discussed Kepler’s latest finds, which were just announced: 1,235 potential alien planets, including 54 that may be habitable by life as we know it.
