If you’re unfamiliar with Oren Peli, his three Paranormal Activity films have made over half of a billion dollars and he is the creator of ABC’s ‘The River’, which is a freaky thriller in the Amazon forest. There was rumor of Peli filming a new thriller in Europe… Well, the reports are true…
The Chernobyl Diaries is a story by Peli, and is set in the city of Prypiat that once was home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. The story follows a group of friends who are vacationing in Europe only to find themselves stranded in the abandoned city – but they’re not alone.
Chernobyl Diaries is expected to be released on Memorial Day Weekend.

We were very confused to see the earlier announcements of the new film Oren Peli, “Chernobyl diaries”, where he points out that it was his personal original idea, and that all producers are enthusiastic about the project. We are filmmakers from Russia, who worked over the similar project called «Left.Behind» a year earlier, and we believe that the Oren Peli film is not too different from ours.
A group of American tourists traveling to Europe and find themselves in an abandoned city of Pripyat, where the boys realize that they are not alone.
Announcements of the film are identical, with only a slight difference in one year.
