Syfy to adapt Stephen King’s new Paranormal series
Dec. 06, 2009, under Paranormal TV News
“Syfy is moving forward with a new supernatural drama series called Haven, based on the Stephen King novella The Colorado Kid, and developed by veterans of King’s last big TV series adaptation, Stephen King’s The Dead Zone,” reports Mark Wilson at About.com.
“Thirteen episodes of Haven will be produced by E1 Entertainment and it is the first program to be produced for Syfy Pay channels worldwide (excluding Canada and Scandinavia). Production begins early next year and the series is expected to premiere in 2010,” reports Wilson.
“The basic idea for the story is that the town of Haven, Maine, is studded with individuals with paranormal abilities who’ve lived for generations because the town stifles their powers; this way, they can lead normal lives. Naturally all this is spoiled when an FBI agent, Audrey Parker, arrives to solve a murder and uncovers a deeper mystery about the town,” reports Wilson.
