Joshua Jackson
Joshua Jackson is to star in the Hollywood adaptation of British TV show, UFO. The Fringe star will play test pilot Paul Foster, who joins a secret agency whose mission it is to defend Earth against aliens who have been abducting humans and using the body parts, reports Variety.
Matthew Gratzner, responsible for the visual effects on Shutter Island and Iron Man, will be making his directing debut with the big screen version of the sci-fi series, which starred Michael Billington and Ed Bishop and was a cult hit in the 1970s.
“Character development is the most critical part of UFO, and Joshua’s terrific talent and range is exactly what I need to convey the inner conflict of the character of Paul Foster,” Matthew said.
The plot for UFO is set in the near future where aliens conquer Earth. Naturally, they didn’t do so with unselfish means, but to use us as an organ harvesting ground. Humanity’s future lay with SHADO, (Supreme Headquarters Aliens Defense Organization), a covert organization pretending to be a movie studio, who defend Earth against the aliens.
