UFOs: The next ad model?

“Maybe it’s a helicopter…but it’s silent. Maybe it’s a meteor…but it’s stationary. About that time, your radio stops playing and your car dies. It feels like time is standing still and, in an instant, just as quick as the light appeared, it disappears,” writes Matties. “Although there was no time missing from memory, who knows what it was and what really happened? The radio begins to play and the car starts right up.”

“This is the kind of thing that definitely gets your attention and you vividly remember years after the event. The reason you would remember this event so clearly is because it shifts your reality,” writes Matties. “Who knows what really was flying overhead, but, in your mind, it was something you could not help but to notice and it changed your views – This is what adverting should do.”

According to Matties, “Your ad should create a strong message–something that people can’t help but notice and, when they do notice it, it removes all of the noise from their thoughts and brings their focus directly to your message. If you can achieve that, they will most likely remember it–vividly–even years after viewing it. The ad has to stand out like a UFO flying overhead with lights shinning brighter than any other light in the sky.”
