Visitors describe apparitions of the former owner

Nazareth, PA. The City Lights Paranormal Society has investigated the Newburg Inn in Lower Nazareth Township, PA in attempts to confirm or refute the alleged haunted history of both buildings.

Joe Iannetta, a car salesman by day and “ghosbuster” at night, had his team taking video and readings last week at the 250-year old restaurant in the Nazareth area.

“Prior to coming, I try to disprove my client’s claims,” Iannetta said. “I always have at least two people working together in one spot. That way, if something ghostlike appears, there are two sets of eyes to verify it.”

Stories of ghosts at the Newburg Inn are well-known around Nazareth. Customers, workers and tenants have claimed to see apparitions including those of a former owner named Newt and an Indian reportedly hanged in the rafters of the attic.

“I don’t scare too easily,” said Cindy Daniels, a 10-year resident above the restaurant, “but sometimes my hair stands on end.”

Iannetta has to review more than 60 hours of video taken on the premise before revealing his findings.

“They’re just trying to communicate with us,” Iannetta said.
