UFO hot spot, Louisiana?
Have you heard the one about the UFO spotted above the local drive-in restaurant? No? Well, the Thibodaux Police Department has.
A caller who did not provide their name alerted officers to an unidentified flying object flashing a red laser above the Sonic Drive-In on North Canal Boulevard Tuesday around 10:39 p.m.
Eight minutes later, officer James Newton surveyed the area and determined there was no UFO, thus ending any potential Thibodaux had as a tourist hub for paranormal hunters.
Calls concerning UFOs in Thibodaux are extremely rare, Police Chief Craig Melancon said.
“As a police officer for 22 years, I can assure you I’ve come across many strange calls and situations,” he said, “but I can’t recall any situation where I responded to a call about a UFO.”
