Knight Rider turned Ghost Hunter
Castle’s curator has told how her heart was captured by Hollywood star David Hasselhoff when he visited the tourist attraction this week to participate in a ghost hunt.
The Knight Rider actor was joined by Radio One DJ Scott Mills at Tutbury Castle on Sunday.
The pair were filming a UK version of reality show The Hoff – When Scott Came to Stay, where Scott spent time living in California with the Baywatch star.
For the second series, where the roles are reversed, the pair visited the castle whilst visitors and staff attempted to break the record for the world’s longest ghost hunt.
Enthusiasts spent three days, finishing yesterday morning, looking for spooky goings-on with the castle’s curator Lesley Smith – star of TV’s Most Haunted.
Ms Smith, who leases the Staffordshire castle from the Duchy of Lancaster, was full of praise for the two celebrities.
“When you meet celebrities you never know if they are going to be a bit ‘Hollywood’ and difficult but David was charming, drop-dead gorgeous, beautifully dressed and had exquisite manners – as did Scott.
“They were an absolute delight to have here, they did not make you feel self-conscious at all.”
Guests who had bought tickets for the ghost-hunting weekend only found out when they arrived at the castle that the celebrity duo would also be there.
“They were really shocked and excited,” said Ms Smith.
“We are hopeful that we have broken the record, we found out that the current record is 48 hours so we have definitely beaten that.
“We did not have anyone from Guinness records here but we can verify the time so will hopefully have a record.”
David is famous for playing hunky lifeguard Mitch Buchanan and is now a judge on the hit US show, America’s Got Talent.
The stars joined guests for a three-course Elizabethan banquet, where they enjoyed rack of lamb and fruit with flowers.
The star, who was accompanied by his two daughters Taylor and Hayley, also took part in a dance with Kidderminster-based Foxs Boarder Morris Group.
“He certainly looked like he was enjoying it,” said Ms Smith. “He was a really good sport.”
The show is due to be aired later in the year. “I am not meant to say too much about it but I think it will be hilarious,” she said.
Paranormal Daily News’ take: We spared all readers by not posting a photo of Mr. Hasselhoff with his hairy chest and a a leather jacket – It’s a good laugh, however.
