How do psychic powers work, anyway? Can anyone give a psychic reading? And how about cold reading? It’s this the “secret” to tricking people into BELIEVING they are really getting a genuine psychic reading?
I’ve heard it all before. Haven’t you? Just about every skeptic, naysayer and nincompoop out there wants to tell you 18 ways from Sunday how psychic readings are fake. That psychic powers are NOT real. And that all psychics are simply money grubbing charlatans with one hand in your wallet or pocketbook before you call or walk in the door.
It’s NOT true. Psychics have been tested for well over a hundred years now, by some of the GREATEST minds in science and skepticism alike. Some “psychics” are using cold reading techniques. They ARE in fact the frauds, and should be exposed as such.
But many, many psychic mediums, clairvoyants and intuitives have CLEARLY demonstrated an ability to see the future. To divine the truth. And to speak to the deceased. And before you say it’s NOT true…..think again. And look at the evidence that supports it.
In the summer of 2009, for example, one of the most FAMOUS skeptics in the world and active psychic “de bunker” (Dr. Richard Wiseman) shocked the paranormal world when he said he was finally “convinced” that certain psychic abilities had been PROVEN. Simply because the evidence for remote viewing (psychic seeing at a distance) is simply TOO great to overlook any longer. But he gave himself all kinds of “outs”. Simply because for the hard core skeptic, even the most obvious proof is NOT good enough, even when they have to admit they no longer can justify their skepticism.
The easiest way to explain psychic powers is this. (taken from a psychic who I call and consult with often)
It’s just like being really good at math. Or the piano. It’s about having a natural gift…and working with it to make it better. And more refined. And more powerful. Until it’s really sharp. And clear. And then it starts to become so amazingly impressive…that even the worlds greatest skeptics can no longer shake their heads “no”. And that’s when the fun begins for all of us! (and until you’ve had the experience yourself, you just can’t imagine how FUN an amazing reading really can be!)
