Are some psychic readers and intuitive’s simply a scam? I think you already know the answer, don’t you?

If you have read many of our other articles, you should already recognize that unfortunately, a good percentage of professional psychics are a messy mix of fakes, frauds and fugazis. But if you’re genuinely interested in the paranormal, and you DO believe that some psychics have the gift, how do you differentiate between those who have genuine ability and those who are simply making it up?

The most popular way to “fake” it for a psychic or medium? Cold reading. And as has been demonstrated repeatedly with lots of success by magicians, skeptics and cynics of all types and stripes, a good cold reader can give you the IMPRESSION that they are “intuiting” real information, when in reality, they are simply formulating guesses around the “tells” you offer without even recognizing.

Let’s look at some super simple examples:

Body Language Tells – Don’t think your body language gives away the goods? Think again! Cold readers, gypsies and magicians have been using body language cues to proffer “fake” psychic reading scams for decades. Often what you say with your eyes and body….without saying a word verbally, is far more instructive than you can ever know. (hint – telephone readings are actually a great way to avoid this problem)

Leading and General Questions – Most psychic mediums who are NOT the real deal will “lead” their audience, either a group OR an individual, simply by using leading language. This is actually one of the EASIEST ways to tell a psychic is a scam, as the BEST mediums and intuitives will require that you ONLY offer “yes” or “no” answers for this very reason. (cut short ANY reading that tries to covertly coerce you into a conversation that reveals “clues” about what you’re hoping to learn)

The bottom line?

Very few psychics, especially psychic mediums are the real deal. But when you DO come across one who is genuine….it can often be SUCH an amazingly powerful experience, that it changes the very fabric of what you believe it possible for THIS life (and beyond!)
